At CIRCLE, we believe that waste is not an endpoint but a valuable resource. By demonstrating a first-of-its-kind industrial-scale retrofitted biorefinery, the project is transforming food waste streams and additional biomass feedstocks into high-value bio-based chemicals and intermediates, including LA and PLA-based products.
By upgrading and expanding the production capacity of an existing biogas plant, CIRCLE showcases how innovative industrial processes can support the circular economy, reduce reliance on fossil-based resources, and create sustainable pathways for manufacturing and resource use.
On 5 June 2026, our project joins organizations, industries, researchers, and communities around the world in supporting climate action and promoting solutions that turn environmental challenges into opportunities for sustainable growth.
