CIRCLE Project Kicks Off with an Ambitious Four-Year Mission to Revolutionize Bioplastic

The CIRCLE project has officially begun, marking the start of an exciting and ambitious four-year journey. The kick-off meeting brought together sixteen leading companies spanning the entire waste-to-product value chain. With the guidance and support of our programme officer, from the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU), we’ve set the stage for groundbreaking advancements in sustainable bioplastic production.

The project aims to redefine the future of lactic acid and polylactic acid (PLA) bioplastic manufacturing, utilizing food waste as a renewable resource. This innovative approach not only addresses the growing global demand for eco-friendly materials but also promotes circular economy principles by turning waste into high-value products.

The energy at the kick-off meeting was electric, with participants sharing a common vision for innovation, collaboration, and sustainability. The collective expertise and dedication of our partners promise to make this a transformative endeavor for the bioplastics industry and beyond.

We’re looking forward to four years of pioneering progress, bold solutions, and impactful results that contribute to a greener, more sustainable future. Stay tuned for updates as we chart this groundbreaking course together.
